RUP  ”Gomel  machinery  factory  named  after S.M.Kirov”

   History of RUP ”Gomel machinery factory named after S.M.Kirov” starts from foundation in 1885 in the outskirts of Gomel small cast iron enterprise.

   During the years of civil war the factory produced ammunition for a front, repaired ships for the Higher flotilla, did the other responsible orders of a military time. In 1925 at the factory was organized armature and in two years later boiler manufacturing. Also delivery of a different mechanism for building works (mortar mills, crabs, stone quarry and so on.) began.

   In the 30-es years of XX century factory conversed serial produce of a steam pumps and a bit later it was reequipmented to produce machinery production, so factory was turned in 1934 in machinery factory. In the beginning there was conversed generation of shapping machines 735 and 736 and in 1936 was begun production of a mortising machines such models as 741, 742 and 743. Parallel factory produced and the other types of machinery for the automobile, bearing, iron industry.

   More complicated shaping and mortising machines with a hydraulic gear 7A36, 737,7430,7450 and also cutting and dressing automatic machines ИО35Е intended to correct and cut a wire on measured length with diameter to 16mm were conversed after repairing the factory damaged during the war. Such types of machines formed the base of production program of the factory up to 80-es of XX century, and created on their base mortising machines ГД200, ГД300, ГД500 and cutting and dressing automatic machines ГД162-01 are producing by factory at the present time.

   In 50-80-es XX century was conversed about 200 models of a special machines for a different branches of industry: chipper-edger machines, thread-rolling automates, machines for selective rolling and waving drills, copying machines to machining the turbine blades, the welding friction machines, machines and lines to finned conduiting with aluminum tape, to machine the edge of the finned of the oil and the gas mains before welding in the field conditions and many others. In this period factory was the main enterprise of CEM (council of economical mutual aid) in the delivery of the abrasive cutoff machine. Machines had been producing with the different degree of complication – from manual to automatic with diameter of abrasive disk from 200 to 1200mm.

   The factory exported its production active in the 58 countries of the world including USA, Australia, East Europe, Asia, and Latin America.

   In early 80-es XX century the factory conversed produce of drilling-milling-boring machining centers with CNC, in 1982 – vertical 21104П7Ф4 and in 1983 – horizontal ИР500ПМФ4. From this moment the main specialization of the factory was to determinate producing vertical and horizontal machines with the base dimensions of a table 500X500mm. Production were retooled with precision equipment and test instrumentation were infused new working areas, had been taken down from production deteriorate models of machines. To provide development effort there was made special constructional department of the machining centers, in this connection the factory had been reorganized to Gomel machinery production department named after S.M.Kirov which is consists of its own factory and SCD MC.

   In the beginning of 90-es XX century factory full-scale produced different modification of horizontal and vertical machining centers refitting them as will customer with the system CNC as domestic so foreign production (“Fanuk”, “Bosh”, “Siemens”, “Num”, “Olivetti”, and so on). High technical level of a production and a product, availability of highly skilled engineers and workers let

   GMPD named after S.M.Kirov to adjust cooperative produce with the range of Eastern firms. In particular, in 1989 common with German firm “Schiess” on the base of vertical machining center ГДВ500 was produced the range of machining centers with the general name “INTERDRILL VG-100”, which had been retooling with the gears and CNC “Siemens” per firm “Schiess” had been selling at the East European market.

   In 1993 between GMPD named after S.M.Kirov and German firm “HECKERT” was stroked a cooperative bargain to produce a broad range of a knee milling machines such models as FW, FU, FSS. Originally produced machines were delivered for the further sale to firm “HECKERT”, from the middle of 1990-es had start to carry out their sell on the world market by their self.

   Tens thousands of machines, produced by GMPD named after S.M.Kirov are working at the enterprises all over the world. Today the main production program of the factory is forming by vertical, horizontal machining centers with CNC ГДВ500 and ИР500, vertical, horizontal and widely versatile knee milling machine with CNC FSS400CNC, mortises machines with ГД200, ГД320 and ГД500.
